Odour pollution: 1,335 areas in Selangor, KL are expected to experience water supply disruption

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,335 areas are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions as four water treatment plants (LRA) were forced to stop working following an odor pollution incident at the mouth of the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (LRA Rantau Panjang, Kuala Selangor, last night.

 

Air Selangor in a statement informed that the four water treatment plants are Rantau Panjang LRA and Selangor River Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (LRA SSP1), Selangor River Water Treatment Plant Phase 2 (LRA SSP2), and Selangor River Water Treatment Plant Phase 3 ( LRA SSP3).

 

"Following the suspension of LRA Rantau Panjang, LRA SPP1, LRA SSP2 and LRA SSP3, eight (8) regions of Air Selangor, namely Petaling (370 areas), Gombak (

279 areas), Hulu Selangor (28 areas), Klang and Shah Alam ( 189 areas), Kuala Langat (3 areas), Kuala Lumpur (186 areas) and Kuala Selangor (280 areas) are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions.

"Air Selangor will inform developments related to this incident from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media," said the statement.
