PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang was appointed as Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources, effective today.

The appointment was announced by the Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

​

He said, Zaini is 58 years old and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM); Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering, University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom

"He started his career as a lecturer at UTM on 6 August 1988 before assuming the position of Diplomatic Administration Officer on 1 October 2011," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Zuki said Zaini has extensive experience in human resource management, education, planning, research and the environment, especially water technology.

​

He said, Zaini had also served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education as well as the Ministry of Environment and Water.

​

"Hopefully with this appointment, he can realize the vision of the ministry as 'Leader of National Human Resource Development and Management'," he said.
